Why Méribel?

Lying at the heart of the Trois Vallées ski area, the largest expanse of slopes in the world, Méribel has access to a staggering 600 km of skiing, with the Courchevel valley to the east and Val Thorens to the West. There are easy groomed slopes, plenty of thrilling off-piste, as well as ski touring and cross-country skiing on offer. So skiers and snowboarders will be very happy here, but so will non-skiers, thanks to the pretty, traditional Savoyarde town centre offering all sorts of distractions, from chic boutiques, an ice rink and excellent restaurants, to mountain walks and snowshoeing around the area.

In summer, the resort bursts into technicolour life, with many outdoorsy holidays for active families. There are nearly 100 km of bike trails, crisscrossing through mountain meadows and forests, while the slopes transform into walking trails suited to different levels.

Why is Méribel perfect for families?

The sheltered location of Méribel means there are plenty of gentle blues and greens running down to the village, perfect for beginners. The resort is also known for its ski schools and childcare, with a wide range of options including mobile nannies that can come to your chalet. With your babysitter booked, don’t miss Méribel’s legendary après-ski, such as the raucous table-top dancing at La Folie Douce and the live music and fun terrace scene of Le Rond Point.

The summer months are quieter in resort, the meadows and forests perfect for family picnics, and the restaurants offering pretty outdoor terraces with breathtaking views.
