Why Alpbach?

If you're looking for an idyllic winter holiday away from the crowded resorts, you will love the coziness and authenticity that Alpbach offers. Marvel at the imposing wooden chalets, as this is one of the best-preserved traditional villages in Tyrol and one of the most beautiful in Austria. Alpbach preserved its character by making it mandatory for all new buildings to respect its long-established alpine style of architecture since the 50s. The small farms you will find in the surroundings add to this charm as most of them have been in the family for over 300 years.

Niche Junior says

We value our kids opinions - which is why we introduced Niche Junior, giving our little travellers a platform:

I liked trying a sauna for the first time. I stayed inside until my cheeks felt really hot. I also liked playing in the snow and pulling my little brother on the sledge. But most of all, I enjoyed the desserts I had – home-made biscuits , ice-cream and chocolate pralines.

– Robert, 5, from Austria

Why is Alpbach perfect for families?

The Alpbachtal Ski Area is perfect to hit the sun-drenched slopes together with your kids. If your little ones are ski beginners, there are three ski schools in the region. The “Kids Center” at the Wiedersbergerhorn Gondola Station offers child-care for kids from 2 to 4 years old who had enough action in the snow.

Hit the sun-drenched slopes of the family friendly Alpbachtal Wildschönau Ski Area together with your kids.

Discover the treasure which was passed from generation to generation: the recipe for the fluffy “Kaiserschmarren” at the old Zottahof. After finding out more about this specialty, you can end the day with a horse drawn sleigh ride or an enchanting torchlight walk.
