Why Lake Scharmützel?
Lake Scharmützel is a peaceful green oasis for families only one hour outside of Berlin at the „Märkischen Meer“. It is easy to see why Theodor Fontane loved the region – there is a wealth of nature and leisure activities! Explore the region by sailboat, go hiking through the beautiful Mark Brandenburg state in Germany or relax at the famous thermal baths. A real highlight is to spend a night in the century historic water works and power plant. Here old workshops were transformed into luxury accommodations overlooking the lake.

Leave the city behind and enjoy a relaxed weekend with your family and friends. In the morning, as the fog swirls over Lake Scharmützel, stand on the end of the long pier and breathe in the fresh, cool air. Spend the day by exploring the nature, collect chestnuts, take a bicycle or hiking trip around the lake and build fishing rods out of branches. If you are hungry stop for a fish sandwich or have a delicious lunch at “Fishhouse Gödicke” on tiny Lake Glubig. If you want more relaxation a visit to the Bad Saarow thermal baths and saunas is a real highlight for the whole family.
